Arts Project Australia artists Adrian Lazzaro and Cathy Staughton have been shortlisted for the Footscray Art Prize!
The Footscray Art Prize is a biennial visual art prize for contemporary artworks across multiple platforms and disciplines. Established in 2016, it contributes to Footscray’s reputation as a thriving cultural hub that supports and fosters the arts, and provides an opportunity to celebrate this artistic vibrancy and creativity.
This year, 569 artworks were entered into the Footscray Art Prize with a total of 45 artworks were selected for the Footscray Art Prize.
Shortlisted artists are in the running for a total cash prize pool of $33,000, including the coveted $20,000 main prize, with winners announced at the launch at Footscray Community Arts on Saturday 15 July 2023 from 3-5pm. The exhibition continues until 17 September 2023.
Footscray Art Prize 2023 is a collaboration between Victoria University, Maribyrnong City Council, Footscray Community Arts Centre, and the Rotary Club of Footscray, who share a commitment to demonstrating and promoting creativity, cultural achievements, and the arts.
