The Wyndham Art Prize invites Australia’s artists to exhibit in the Wyndham Art gallery. Showcasing contemporary art in the suburbs, artists bring their diverse mediums to compete for the lucrative suite of prizes which include the: $15,000 Wyndham Art Prize as well as the. $5,000 People’s Choice Award.
This year, more than 550 works of a very high calibre were entered and 71 were shortlisted for exhibition, nine being local artists. This year’s Wyndham Art Prize judges include Jason Smith, Director and CEO of Geelong Gallery, Nicole Durling, Executive Director at Craft Victoria and Gail Harradine, Curatorial Manager at Koorie Herritage Trust.
Finalists and prizes will be announced at the Wyndham Art Prize Gala Event on Wednesday 16 August from 6.30 – 8.30pm.
All shortlisted entries are included in the Wyndham Art Prize exhibition at Wyndham Art Gallery from Thursday 17 August to Sunday 22 October, 2023.
